CUPPING NOTES
Strawberry, prune, chocolate. Sweet with a clean, bright body.
The washing station from which this coffee comes was founded in 2009, located on the shores of Lake Kivu, processes cherries grown in the hills surrounding the lake, at high altitude, on volcanic soil. The plant is equipped with a pulper, fermentation tanks and drying beds. It receives coffees from more than 1500 farmers.
The coffee is delivered to the station, where it is floated and the unripe cherries are removed. The coffee is then taken to raised beds where it is dried for 20-25 days.
