Gitesi is a washing station run by Alexis and Aime Gahizi, father and son. They have very strong relationships with local farmers, there are over 1800 farmers who bring their cherries to the station. The staff is highly trained to manage the delivery and sorting of cherries. At Gitesi they have a waste water management system and produce organic or natural fertiliser through coffee pulp. They also have a program where farmers can learn how to grow diferent vegetables, ensuring they have some income outside of the coffee season.
