Kibingo is a washing station located in Kayanza, Burundi, renowned for its excellent work in sorting and processing cherries to produce high-quality coffees. This natural lot stands out for its sweetness and notes of red fruits and citrus.
The station, situated at 1,893 meters above sea level, supports 1,739 coffee farmers from nearby hills, organized into groups led by a spokesperson. Equipped with fermentation tanks, drying tables, and a nursery for coffee seedlings, it also promotes farmer support projects, such as composting and access to organic fertilizers.
The coffee is handpicked and undergoes rigorous quality checks before being dried slowly over 3–4 weeks. Traceability is ensured at every stage, resulting in a carefully selected and processed coffee that maintains its excellence.
