The crystals that we have used come from Salinas de San Juan in the town of Saelices, Guadalajara. It is a saline spring, produced by sedimentary deposits from the sea 200 million years ago, when the sea covered half of the peninsula.
The facilities have two wells or waterwheels, cookers, pools, pipes, a warehouse or “alfolí” and a unique hermitage with an ellipsoidal floor plan. The entire complex was declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 2007.
