cacao Nibs : Different uses

In this post we are going to share several recipes in which we like to add cacao nibs , both for their flavor and texture.

Toast

The toast we propose is one of those we have been serving in our cafeteria, it is a toast of peanut butter, salted caramel, banana and cacao nibs .

At the base we have a slice of toasted sourdough loaf that we spread with peanut butter (100% peanut) and salted caramel on top. Then we place slices of banana that combines great with the peanut butter and also adds interest to the presentation. Finally the cacao nibs , sprinkled on top, to break up the creamy texture of the peanut butter and banana, adding a crunchy and light touch that goes with a cacao flavor that combines great with the rest of the ingredients.

Yogurt and granola

When it comes to preparing a bowl of yogurt there are many combinations of ingredients, we will leave here one of our favorites.

As a base we have used an organic natural yogurt to which we have added chocolate granola accompanied by a mixture of blueberries, raspberries and banana slices. Finally a spoonful of nibs, which can be served on the side as in the picture, or sprinkled on top. Personally we like to serve all the ingredients with some separation and let everyone mix it as they like.

BAKING

First of all, cacao nibs can be baked without any problem, they will not lose any of their nutritional and flavor properties. In addition, they will keep their crunchy texture so they are perfect for use in recipes for cakes, pies or brownies, creating a very nice contrast. They also work perfectly in cookie doughs, being a light substitute for the classic chocolate chips.

Although we forgot to mention one thing, and that is that nibs are not just an ingredient to give the final touch to recipes, but can be eaten alone as a snack, light and healthy.
