Finca La Macarena, located in the Los Arados hamlet of Piendamó (Cauca), is a project that combines tradition, innovation, and a deep respect for the environment. On its 75 hectares, a coffee is grown that clearly expresses the richness of the Cauca terroir and the commitment of those who work this land.
The farm is part of the project led by Wilton Benítez, a " Producer "—a leading figure in Colombia known for his scientific approach and mastery of fermentation processes.
With more than 12 years of experience, Wilton has developed its own protocols inspired by winemaking and other fermentation industries, applying them to coffee to enhance the natural attributes of each “ Variety ” without losing its identity. At La Macarena, 26 varieties are cultivated—including Geisha, Sudan Rume, Wush Wush, Java, and SL28—distributed across plots with distinct microclimates and managed according to the genetic and sensory needs of each variety.
This coffee is grown on carefully designed terraces, supported by a microbiology lab and a processing facility equipped to achieve the highest possible precision. All of this is underpinned by a sustainable and regenerative agricultural model that protects the soil, water, and the lives of the community surrounding the farm.
