Lusitania – Pink Bourbon

Hacienda Lusitania is located in the northern region of the Valle del Cauca department, in the municipality of Caicedonia, within the village of San Gerardo Alto, at an elevation between 1,450 and 1,650 meters above sea level.

Surrounded by the mountains and landscapes of the foothills of the Cordillera Central, this farm embodies the tradition and passion for coffee of a family that has dedicated its life to coffee for four generations.

Lusitania is recognized as one of the pioneering farms in the region for growing specialty coffee. Its owners, Consuelo Marín and Javier Macías, have worked tirelessly year after year to produce high-quality coffees, always committed to sustainable farming practices that respect the environment.

Today, this legacy continues under the leadership of Alejandro, the 2023 Colombian coffee-tasting champion, who brings an innovative vision without losing sight of the family’s essence and tradition. His approach focuses on growing exotic varieties and experimenting with fermentation and harvesting processes, seeking to bring out the unique characteristics of each bean to the fullest.

Thanks to this meticulous work, Hacienda Lusitania’s coffees have successfully established themselves in international markets, standing out for their exceptional quality, sensory complexity, and unique identity.

This time, we’re featuring one of Colombia’s most prized varieties: Pink Bourbon, processed using a semi-washed method with 72 hours of anaerobic fermentation. The result is a vibrant and elegant cup, with tropical notes, citrus fruits, and orange blossom, accompanied by a bright citrus acidity, a creamy body, and a delicate caramel finish. A coffee that’s perfect for enjoying as both an espresso and an Americano.
