Ethiopia Banko Gotiti
This lot comes from small producers in the village of Banko Gotiti, who grow coffee on a small scale.
The coffee is harvested manually and selectively, and processed using the Washed method, followed by drying on African beds, where adequate ventilation and slow, uniform drying are ensured, key factors in preserving the quality of the bean.
The Yirgacheffe region, located in the Gedeo Zone in southern Ethiopia, is one of the most renowned origins of specialty coffee worldwide.
Its coffee-growing areas are mainly located between 1,700 and 2,200 meters above sea level, in a mountainous environment with fertile volcanic soils and high biodiversity. The climate is cool and humid, with well-distributed rainfall and moderate temperatures that favor the development of complex profiles characteristic of the area.
Production is based almost exclusively on native Ethiopian heirloom varieties, grown by small producers on small family plots, usually under shade and using traditional farming practices. Yirgacheffe has built an international reputation for its clean coffees and elegant profiles, establishing itself as a historic benchmark in Ethiopian specialty coffee.
