Cupping NOTES
Tropical fruit, raspberry, caramel. Vibrant with a silky body.
Farm is located in Kiambu, about 40 km north of Nairobi, at an elevation of 1,600 m, on fertile Kikuyu loam soils. The warm climate, with annual rainfall ranging from 900 to 1,350 mm and a cool period between April and July, promotes slow bean ripening, a characteristic of high-quality Kenyan coffees.
La Farm a 5-year crop rotation cycle to ensure high yields, large grains, and healthy plants, supplemented by sustainable practices such as pruning, mulching, and weed control.
After harvesting and sorting, the cherries are pulped using water-efficient machinery that separates heavy and light beans. Fermentation and drying are carried out carefully to preserve the bean’s bluish-green color and achieve optimal moisture content.
