We are going to share with you our recipes to make DRINKING CHOCOLATE at home. One of them is designed to prepare a portion and be able to do it directly in the cup where we are going to take it and the other one to prepare several portions at the same time.
Option 1
- Milk - 180 grams
- ground chocolate - 30 grams
- Cream (minimum 35% m.g.) - 55 grams
This drink can be prepared directly in the cup in which it will be served.
Heat the cream in the microwave until it reaches 80/90 degrees (just before it boils) and pour it over the ground chocolate.
Let stand one minute and stir well to integrate the two ingredients.
Add the hot or cold milk and it is ready.

Option 2
- Milk - 200g
- ground chocolate - 35g
This drink is perfect for preparing several servings at once.
Heat the milk in a saucepan and add the ground chocolate.
Once the chocolate has been added, heat it until it boils, stirring continuously.
Once it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and wait for it to cool a little before serving.

Extra decoration
- The drink we like the most from the two previous recipes.
- Cream (minimum 35% m.g.) Amount to taste
- Sugar (optional)
- ground chocolate to decorate
We put the whipping cream in a jar (at this point we can add sugar if we want) and shake the jar until we get the texture we like, the more we shake the thicker it will be.
Optionally, ground chocolate can be added on top for decoration.

Extra information
This is our recipe but you can always adjust the amount of milk and chocolate to your taste.
The quantities given would be for one drink, in case you want to make more than one it would be as easy as doubling or tripling the recipe.
One thing we have to keep in mind when we start making drinks with our bean-to-bar chocolates is that we do not add thickeners or emulsifiers. The final texture will depend on the chocolate we choose to make it.
Chocolates with a higher percentage of cacao, such as Tanzania 84%, will be thicker than those with a lower percentage, such as Ecuador 55%.
In all these recipes, milk and whipping cream can be substituted for any vegetable beverage and vegetable cream.
