Formoso is a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of Minas Gerais, near the junction of the states of Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Bahia. Minas Gerais features rugged terrain that includes some of Brazil’s highest peaks and is home to the headwaters of major national rivers, giving it a strategic role in water resources. Its tropical climate varies from cold and humid in the south to semi-arid in the north, fostering a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna distributed across diverse biomes. As Producer leading Producer high-quality coffee, the state produced 74% of Brazil’s Arabica coffee in 2020.
With its combination of natural resources, diverse climate, and significant agricultural production, Minas Gerais is a cornerstone of Brazil’s economy and biodiversity.
