Lusitania

Located in the northern region of the Valle del Cauca department, in the municipality of Caicedonia, the farm lies at an elevation ranging from 1,450 to 1,650 meters above sea level. This exceptional setting, in the foothills of the Cordillera Central mountain range, offers ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, including fertile soils, a temperate climate, and biodiversity that fosters the development of complex and distinctive cup profiles.

The Lusitania Farm is much more than just a coffee farm: it represents a living history of family tradition that has been carefully preserved and passed down through four generations. Since its inception as one of the region’s pioneering coffee farms, it has maintained a steadfast commitment to quality and sustainability. Its owners, Consuelo and Javier Macías, have dedicated their lives to perfecting every stage of the production process, combining traditional knowledge with responsible agricultural practices that respect the environment.

Today, this legacy continues under the leadership of Alejandro, the 2023 Colombian coffee tasting champion, who brings a fresh perspective without losing sight of the essence of the family legacy. His approach focuses on growing specialty coffee varieties and innovating harvesting and fermentation processes, seeking to bring out the unique characteristics of each bean to the fullest. Thanks to this meticulous work, coffees from the Lusitania farm have successfully established themselves in international markets, standing out for their exceptional quality and unique identity.
