Ato Solomon Worku, started in 1998 SMS Coffee, an Ethiopian company now with a long history in the production and export of specialty coffees. Solomon, who is from the Amhara region, studied accounting and business, and started importing coffee machinery. His passion for the bean led him to create SMS.
Today, SMS operates several Washed stations in the Sidamo and Yirgacheffe areas (Komato, Korate, Gola and Koke), as well as dry mills in Dilla and Kebado. The company has integrated a solid processing and quality control system, with its own laboratory, which guarantees high standards.
With more than 28 years of experience, SMS employs some 200 people and maintains an excellent reputation.
