Ato Solomon Worku founded SMS Coffee in 1998, an Ethiopian company that now has a long history of producing and exporting specialty coffees. Solomon, who is from the Amhara region, studied accounting and business and began by importing coffee machinery. His passion for coffee led him to create SMS.
Today, SMS operates several washing stations in the Sidamo and Yirgacheffe regions (Komato, Korate, Gola, and Koke), as well as dry mills in Dilla and Kebado. The company has implemented a robust processing and quality control system, complete with its own laboratory, which ensures high standards.
With more than 28 years of experience, SMS employs about 200 people and has an excellent reputation.
