Rwanda, Rutsiro
The Rutsiro region, located in Rwanda's western province on the shores of Lake Kivu, is one of the country's main coffee-producing areas and the second largest in terms of coffee-growing area.
Their farms mainly grow Arabica coffee, with varieties such as Bourbon, Catuaí, and Caturra. The nutrient-rich volcanic soils, together with altitudes of around 1,800 meters above sea level, create an exceptional microclimate that favors slow bean maturation. This process results in coffees with a balanced, sweet, and elegant profile.
The coffee is processed using a Washed method, which enhances its cleanliness in the cup and its sweet notes, making it an ideal choice for a balanced and expressive espresso.
At Puchero, we pay special attention to this type of coffee during roasting. Jaime and Lukas, our roasters, develop a specific profile for this origin, focused on highlighting its maximum sweetness, balance, and character.
